The Book of Flowers
The Book of Flowers covers flower cultivation in the Ottoman period, flower seeds and flower growers, the production of Isparta roses and rose oil, the healing properties of flowers according to the Dede Korkut Book, and fortune-telling based on flowers. Flowers also resonate in Divan literature and folk songs. With the meanings they express, colors and flowers are an element of allegorical expression, especially as a code for communication between lovers, sent in bundles. Flowers are a motif in embroidery and lace work. These motifs are sometimes stylized, and sometimes depicted with the most realistic possible imagery. Flower names were especially given to girls.
