Milliyet Sanat Issue 802 / February 2026

The February 2026 issue of Milliyet Sanat, which keeps its finger on the pulse of Turkey’s and the world’s cultural and artistic agenda, has met its readers! The new issue dedicates its cover to the exhibition “The Aria of All Colors,” which brings together the multifaceted works of Semiha Berksoy at Istanbul Modern. The “Interview of the Month” features Hazal Türesan. From the transformation of lovers in literature from Sabahattin Ali to Tinder, to Hollywood stars’ stance on Palestinian resistance and Generation Z’s relationship with music, this issue offers many more interviews, articles, and news pieces.

On the cover of the February 2026 issue, readers are welcomed by the exhibition of Semiha Berksoy, the diva of all colors. With her multifaceted personality, Berksoy achieved many firsts both in Turkey and Europe. Her exhibition “The Aria of All Colors” brings together more than 200 works at Istanbul Modern, spanning her production from performing arts to visual arts, from cinema to literature.

VISUAL ARTS

In the visual arts section of the new issue, readers will find interviews with Ani Çelik Arevyan, who is a guest at Merdiven Art Space with her abstract glass sculptures and photographic interpretations; master illustrator Ercan Akyol, preparing to open his exhibition “çİzdüşümler” at Schneidertempel Cultural Center; and M.K. Perker, whose performative exhibition titled “LIVE” has opened at Pilot Gallery.

There are also review articles on Habip Aydoğdu’s ongoing exhibition “A Color’s Testimony” at Brieflyart and Can Göknil’s fifth solo exhibition “Waltz in the Universe” at Bozlu Art Project’s historic Mongeri building.

In her column “Near and Far Architecture,” İrem Maro writes about cultural buildings that will join the global cultural scene in the new year; Ayşegül Sönmez pens a story of testimony stretching from the heart of the Amazon to Paris in her column “Sanatatak”; and Sabiha Kurtulmuş dedicates her “We, Etc.” column to her interview with Altuğ Hacıalioğlu.

CULTURE

For the February 2026 issue, Turan Aksoy prepares a special feature tracing the elements that make Nicosia a city through its movie theaters, in a piece that stretches from poetry to cinema and from individual memory to urban memory.

INTERVIEW OF THE MONTH

Hazal Türesan—one of the most prolific and radiant actresses of recent years—is the guest of the Interview of the Month with Asu Maro. In addition to the play “White Rabbit Red Rabbit,” in which she will perform, she talks about her successful work on stage, on screen, and on television, as well as about herself and her life.

PERFORMING ARTS

The performing arts section opens with an interview with Julien Favreau, artistic director of Béjart Ballet Lausanne, which is preparing to meet dance lovers in Istanbul. The magazine also bids farewell to the unforgettable theater figure Haldun Dormen, who passed away on January 21.

The pages feature “Diyemedim,” written and performed solo by Derya Şensoy as the 51st play of Ortaoyuncular; Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour’s “White Rabbit Red Rabbit”; and a review of “Tomris/An Incompatible Story,” a Bursa City Theatres production that brings Tomris Uyar to the stage through the pen of Zeynep Kaçar.

LITERATURE

In the literature section, readers will find interviews with Norwegian author Jon Fosse, winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Literature; Şebnem İşigüzel, who writes about the visual universe of Manuel Çıtak in the 16th book of the Eczacıbaşı Photographers Series and about the artist we lost in 2023; intensive care and geriatric nurse Fatma Duran, author of “A Dose of Life”; and İlhami Algör, whose new book is titled “Wind, Slope, Failatün Failün.”
