The cover of the June 2026 issue features the exhibition “Yoko Ono: Inner Voice and Inner Structure” at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM) at Sabancı University. The new issue also features interviews with Sandra Hüller, the lead actress of “Fatherland,” and Imany, who is preparing to give three concerts in Turkey; special features on the 54th Istanbul Music Festival and the 7th Mardin Biennial; and an exploration of soccer literature ahead of the World Cup, among many other interviews, articles, and news stories awaiting readers. 

The cover feature of Milliyet Sanat’s June 2026 issue focuses on the “Yoko Ono: Inner Voice and Inner Structure” exhibition at Sabancı University’s Sakıp Sabancı Museum (SSM). The exhibition brings the artist’s landmark works and words from the MUSAC museum in León, Spain, to Istanbul for the first time. The feature includes interviews with the three curators of the exhibition: Ono’s studio collaborators Jon Hendricks and Connor Monahan, and SSM Director Prof. Dr. Ahu Antmen.

VISUAL ARTS

The visual arts pages, featuring Özlem Numanoğlu’s project titled “The Lost Sculpture Office” and Mine Sofuoğlu—Director of the Rahmi M. Koç Museum—discussing the exhibition “We Remain with Haslet in the Seas,” which opened on the anniversary of Haslet Soyöz’s death, continue under the theme “GÖKzemin” until June 21. Mardin Biennial, which runs under the theme “GÖKzemin” until June 21. The retrospective exhibition of American artist and war photographer Lee Miller at the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, Claire Arkas’s 18th solo exhibition “The Eye Comes Before the Word,” and Mehtap Baydu’s ongoing exhibition “It’s So Hard to Love You!” at Arter, along with an interview with Yiğit Özgür about the “Witness of Time: Yiğit Özgür Cartoons” exhibition opening at Galeri Işık. In her “Sanatatak” column, Ayşegül Sönmez discusses Maurizio Cattelan’s confession line, this time officially recounting the story of a deceased artist.

MUSIC

The music section opens with an extensive feature on the 54th Istanbul Music Festival, taking place from June 11 to 25, and an interview with Sara Correia, who will perform at the festival’s closing concert. It also includes a special article offering a closer look at Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony and “Cello Concerto,” both featured in the festival program. The pages continue with an interview with Imany, who will be performing concerts in Istanbul, Izmir, and Ankara, while Naim Dilmener, as always, evaluates the previous month’s music news in his “Musical Diary.” In his “As Long as There’s Music” column, Yavuz Hakan Tok explores the emotions stirred by Şebnem Ferah’s return to the stage after a six-year hiatus; in his “From the Music World” column, Mehmet Tez discusses The BRIT School; and in his “Diapason” column, Kemal Küçük examines the rising costs of large orchestras.

CINEMA

The cinema section opens with an exclusive interview with Sandra Hüller, the lead actress in “Fatherland,” directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, which won the Best Director Award at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered. The pages, which bring readers reviews of the “Toy Story” series in conjunction with the release of the fifth film in the series, “Disclosure Day,” on June 19, As “The Death of Robin Hood” prepares for release, the issue sheds light on the famous Robin Hoods of cinema history and the impressive filmography of Christian Petzold, who is set to bring his new film “Miroirs No. 3” to audiences. In addition to a feature exploring master directors’ diverse approaches to artificial intelligence, the issue also closely examines the unique creative space YouTubers have carved out in cinema through Kane Parsons’ “Backrooms.” This month, Attila Dorsay dedicates his “Treasures of Cinema” column to “Three Coins in the Fountain,” starring Maggie McNamara and Louis Jourdan.

PERFORMING ARTS

On the performing arts pages, interviews with Elvin Beşikçioğlu and Fatih Sönmez, who star together in Tatbikat Sahnesi’s new play “A Cool Morning,” as well as with Başak Kıvılcım Ertanoğlu, the writer and director of “A Face, B Face,” and the play’s actors Melis Öz and Pınar Tuncegil, await theater lovers. In this issue, which also spotlights “The Political History of Some Bad Habits”—a play co-produced by Ara Sahne and Mundial Yapım, starring Canberk Gültekin and Gözde Mutluer—Yeşim Özsoy discusses GalataPerform LAB.

LITERATURE

With just days to go before the 2026 World Cup kicks off, the literature pages take a close look at the literary reflections of football passion. Swedish author Alex Schulman discusses his new book, *June 17*; while Deniz Everling, Shirley Heim, and Teresa Köster—founders of Reading Room—describe the Berlin-based collective that has garnered attention for its silent reading events. In sections dedicated to events marking the 100th anniversary of Austrian writer Ingeborg Bachmann’s birth and her works, Hülya Avtan also offers literature enthusiasts a wide selection of recommendations in her “Turn the Page” column, as always.
