Architect Sinan

The renowned architect Le Corbusier, whose ideas continue to influence architecture today, once expressed his admiration for Mimar Sinan by stating, “There are only two architects in the world who fully comprehend space: Mimar Sinan and myself.”

The technical drawings created by Ali Saim Ülgen, who was commissioned by Atatürk to illustrate the book "Structures of Mimar Sinan," are now preserved in the archives of the Turkish Historical Society. These drawings, the product of years of meticulous work, stand as a testament to Sinan’s architectural genius.

Prepared for publication by art historian Dr. Murat Sav in collaboration with the Turkish Historical Society, the book "Structures of Mimar Sinan" is a valuable resource that showcases these drawings. Ali Saim Ülgen, a key figure among the generation of architects who were born and trained during the Ottoman era but were active in the early years of the Republic, made a significant contribution with this work, which is sure to captivate every book lover and architecture enthusiast.

The book will be published in both Turkish and English, presented in a special box, eagerly awaiting its audience.
