My Beloved Faithful Wife: Letters from Rıza Tevfik to Nazlı Hanım

My Beloved Faithful Wife consists of letters written by Rıza Tevfik, who loved writing letters, to his wife, Nazlı Hanım. The work contains 150 letters written by Rıza Tevfik from European cities such as London, Cambridge, Budapest, Lausanne, Lyon, Zurich, Versailles, Vichy, and Basel, as well as from Thessaloniki, Cairo, Aleppo, Jerusalem, and Amman, where he went after leaving Turkey in 1922. Some of the letters were written in 1920 from Cambridge, where he took his eldest son Said to continue his education, and addressed to him as "My dear mother!". Most of the letters were written between 1910 and 1920, with the first one penned in 1904 and the last one in 1948. The letters convey to the reader the family relationships in the late Ottoman society, some national issues, and important political and social events of the era. The "Appendices" section at the end of the book includes six letters written by Nazlı Hanım to Rıza Tevfik on various dates, Rıza Tevfik's poem "Come! Come Closer!" written for Nazlı Hanım on January 16, 1926, and a 21-point instruction manual titled "Father's Warnings," dated July 12, 1910, which everyone in the house was to follow while he was traveling.
