Observations
Observations is one of Ahmet Mithat Efendi's interesting works of fiction, in which he expresses his thoughts on the novel genre within a narrative framework and experiments with new storytelling techniques. One of the characters in the novel is Ahmet Mithat Efendi himself, in his capacity as the author. He writes this novel by entering the lives of the people whose stories he is writing and consulting with them. He reshapes the text according to their objections and additions. While witnessing the events that happen to the characters, you will also read the story of how this novel was written, in which his own characters were also involved in the writing process. In this publication, no simplification has been made in the language and style of the work. Explanations of the meanings of words that may be unfamiliar to today's reader, as well as explanations of some proper names, are given in footnotes.
