Moon and Star Figurative Calligraphy Art

The inscription in the crescent part reads "Ne mutlu Türk'üm diyene," which translates to "How happy is the one who says 'I am a Turk.'" The text inside the star is a line from the Turkish national anthem, the "İstiklal Marşı," which reads "Korkma sönmez bu şafaklarda yüzen al sancak," translating to "Fear not, the red flag that proudly waves in these dawns shall not fade."

Calligrapher Osman Yılmazer was born in Istanbul in 1973. He graduated from the Department of Textile Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. Having received training from Adnan Çoker and Ali Alparslan, Yılmazer continues his artistic work in his own studio.
