The Mustafa Kara Book

The association between Mustafa Kara and Dergâh Publications dates back to the mid-1960s. When the journal Hareket resumed publication in January 1966, he was among those who began visiting the publishing house and the magazine as a student at Istanbul Imam Hatip School. This connection never ceased.

He later became one of the contributors to Hareket. His articles on dervish lodges, published in the journal, attracted considerable attention as some of the first writings produced in this field. When these articles were expanded into book form, Dervish Lodges and Zawiyas (Tekkeler ve Zaviyeler) emerged. This was followed by many other books and studies, eventually forming a substantial Mustafa Kara corpus.

The Mustafa Kara Book examines the life, scholarship, memories, way of living, and relationships of a man of learning and spirituality, while also shedding light on processes related to the publishing house. The volume includes memoirs and scholarly essays written by his colleagues, students, and friends.
