Istanbul 1900 examines the development of the Ottoman capital and the political and cultural consequences that emerged from this transformation. Particular attention is given to Raimondo D’Aronco, regarded as the most original interpreter of the Art Nouveau style in Istanbul, as well as to other Western architects and the achievements they attained in both design and construction.
The book includes 300 photographs and illustrations dating from the early 1900s, which vividly demonstrate the richness and diversity of Art Nouveau design and architectural practice in Istanbul.
