From Serial to Published Edition
The differences between serialized and published editions of works in Turkish literature tell us a great deal about what the era, the author, and the literary environment did, why, and how. In this respect, identifying the changes between the serialized version of a novel, the first published edition, and the final edition revised by the author during their lifetime, and determining whether these changes were due to censorship, a change in the author's literary views, or external interventions such as publishing houses, is crucial for our cultural history.
Sometimes authors have expressed these changes in the "Preface/Introduction" to their works, and sometimes through interviews, letters, and memoirs. This book explores not only what/who the author removed, but also what/who they added, and how, why, and for what reasons they did so.
